Billetproof in Antioch 2016 was one of my favorite years of this show so far. Was it because of the clear skies? The great variety of cars? Was it because I didn’t have anything to do besides wander through the show, take pictures, avoid roasting to death under the burning sun and enjoy the scenery? Or was it the fact that Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys’ new band Guantanamo School of Medicine headlined and played an amazing set? I don’t know, but I’ll take it. It was a great year for this show, I had such a nice time out there and I can’t wait for next year. For nearly every year I’ve attended this show there has always been some crazy rush right up until the last minute to get ready for this show, it’s always either finishing a car, throwing together a booth, or some project that gets put off all summer until the week before the show. It’s always made Billetproof interesting, but this year we decided to try something new; we tried to relax and enjoy the show. I didn’t get my car together on time, we made no huge changes to my wife’s 57 before the show, and aside from making a Club Pick trophy we didn’t have much to do besides get there and have a great time. I could get used to this, the show was a blast.
